About Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Teams is included with TRIUMF's licensing of the Microsoft 365 suite of applications. You can consider it the hub for team work. It has the potential to change the way teams work by bringing together various elements such a chat, video and/or audio meetings, note-taking, document sharing, and other useful tools into one dashboard.
Teams makes working at home much more effective and attractive. During this period of coping with the pandemic and continuing into the future, Teams provides a viable set of tools to help groups stay connected regardless of where the members are.
How to Get Started
You can use Teams on the Office portal at https://office.com and logging in with your TRIDENT credentials. Most of the functionality of Teams is available through this web portal. You can also install Teams on your device ( Windows PC or laptop, Mac, Linux DEB or RPM, iOS mobile, and Android mobile). This will provide a richer experience.
Download Teams from https://teams.microsoft.com/downloads.
Important Consideration
Teams can be very useful however due to its customisable options and flexibility it can be overwhelming. This product is new to TRIUMF's IT support department so it has not yet been configured to constrain what can be done. At this time we ask that you keep your Teams environment clean by removing test teams and minimising the number of teams you create.
