Web Browser via WebDAV

WebDAV access to the TRWIN file-shares from Windows

These instructions have been tested on Windows only. The usage may be similar in Linux and MAC environments.

Accessing the folders and files in a TRWINDATA volume, using WebDAV through a browser, provides for downloading only of files. Files can not be copied back to the server. If this is required, consider using a Mapped Drive via WebDAV.

Prerequisites:

  • Account on the TRWIN Windows domain.
  • TRIUMF Root Certificate installed on the system you are connecting from.

Certificates

You will need to install the TRIUMF Root Certificate for server authentication. Obtain the TRIUMF Root Certificate from the TRIUMF Certificate Authority web page. Save this certificate to the certificate store called "Trusted Root Certification Authorities".

Connecting to TRWINDATA volumes using a Web Browser

This has been tested with Internet Explorer, Chrome, and FireFox.

  • Open a web browser and enter the address of the TRWINDATA volume as shown below into the address field.
  • Provide your TRWIN credentials in the form trwin\[your username].
  • If the TRIUMF Root Certificate has been installed properly you should not be prompted with a security request.

Addresses to TRWINDATA folders:

  • \\trwindata\Groups -  https://trwinalpha.triumf.ca/remote_m
  • \\trwindata\Users - https://trwinalpha.triumf.ca/remote_h/[your username]
