Mapped Drives via WebDAV

WebDAV access to the TRWIN file-shares using Windows Mapped Drives

These instructions are for Windows only.

Prerequisites:

  • Account on the TRWIN Windows domain.
  • TRIUMF Root Certificate installed on the system you are connecting from.


Certificates

You will need to install the TRIUMF Root Certificate for server authentication. Obtain the TRIUMF Root Certificate from the TRIUMF Certificate Authority web page. Save this certificate to the certificate store called "Trusted Root Certification Authorities".


Mapping a Network Drive

 

 Win 10

  • Right click on the Start menu, open  "File Explorer"
  • In the left panel, right click on "This PC" and click on "Map network drive"
  • Select a drive letter
  • In the Folder field, type in one of the web addresses listed below
  • Click on Finish
  • When prompted, enter in your TRWIN Windows credentials. Username example: trwin\bob. Then click on OK.

 Win 8.x

  • Click on "This PC" from the Start Menu
  • In the top menu, click on Computer and click on "Map network drive"
  • Select a drive letter
  • In the Folder field, type in one of the web addresses listed below
  • Click on Finish
  • When prompted, enter in your TRWIN Windows credentials. Username example: trwin\bob. Then click on OK.

Win 7

  • Click on "Computer" from the Start Menu
  • In the top menu, click on Tools and then click on "Map network drive ..."
  • Select a drive letter
  • In the Folder field, type in one of the web addresses listed below
  • Click on Finish
  • When prompted, enter in your TRWIN Windows credentials. Username example: trwin\bob. Then click on OK.

 

When you open Windows File Explorer, the TRWINDATA volume now appears with a drive letter assigned to it.

  • \\trwindata\Groups -  https://trwinalpha.triumf.ca/remote_m
  • \\trwindata\Users - https://trwinalpha.triumf.ca/remote_h/[your username]

      Example: https://trwinalpha.triumf.ca/remote_h/bob

  • \\trwindata\Users2 - https://trwinalpha.triumf.ca/remote_h2/[your username]

      Example: https://trwinalpha.triumf.ca/remote_h2/bob

  • \\trwindata\Users3 - https://trwinalpha.triumf.ca/remote_h3/[your username]

      Example: https://trwinalpha.triumf.ca/remote_h3/bob

  • \\trwindata\Scratch - https://trwinalpha.triumf.ca/remote_s
