Windows Security

One of the biggest threats to Windows computers is malware. It can disrupt computer operation, gather sensitive information or gain unauthorized access to computer systems. The complexity of computer technology and the nature of Internet make malware easy to exist and spread around very quickly. Therefore, it is very important to protect your system from malware. By protecting your computer, you are not just protecting your system, but also protecting systems within and outside of the network.

Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) is the standard malware protection software used at TRIUMF for Windows Desktop and Laptop computers.  The functions of the SEP is to keep the Windows desktop\laptops\servers 's malware definition update to date, to create an alert when a threat is detected, and to allow for fast and easy analysis and removal.  Each individual Windows computer is required to install the SEP client for minimal protection. Please click here to request a SEP license.
